My name is Georgie, like many women I played gold religiously on a Saturday morning with my dad growing up but before long other interests took over and for my teen years golf slipped away. Over the last few years I have re-kindled my love for golf playing with friends and my partner. However, golf was constantly missing two crucial things: clothes that worked for me and a place for a female community of golfers. I was shocked by how slowly the golf world had progressed for women’s apparel, anything reasonably affordable was old fashioned, and anything fashion forward was far too expensive for an amateur golfer like myself to justify. Therefore, like most women I ended up recycling old tennis skorts which were too short to be bending down and picking up golf balls in, or running outfits that looked out of place on the golf course. This was not giving me the confidence I need to walk out onto that first tee and show all the men that women can play golf too. Also, as much as I enjoyed playing golf with my male friends I wanted to share the game with other women who were passionate about golf and no matter where I looked I could not find a place that would give me these connections and the ability to network with other female golfers. And so, I decided to do something about it and that is wear Verde Vita was born. Verde Vita for me is not only somewhere I can guarantee to get the outfit I need to feel my most confident on the golf course, without breaking the bank, but also a community I can be a part of with like-minded golfers who want to build out their network in golf and help move golf into an inclusive and modern game or all to enjoy.
